The skinny jean is an immortal classic in the denim product range. With its supple material, it defends its place against all the styles that take it a little easier. And yes, we do appreciate the comfort from time to time. But we always come back to the skinny jeans, because they're always a good choice. A comfortable stretch element maintains their shape and makes them more comfortable to wear. As a result, this denim favourite never really lacks anything. Need some more style ideas? Here are our top five, which once again prove that drainpipe-style clothing is incredibly adaptable!
Drainpipes for rock concerts
Looking for an outfit for the next festival? It should be able do it all and look mega casual at the same time. Black drainpipe trousers are your go-to clothing item. Our favourite are high-waisted jeans with a used look. With platform boots you can navigate your dry feet over muddy meadows. Add a black tank top and a plaid lumberjack shirt for crisp evenings – and during the day tie it loosely around your hips. For authentic 90s punk chic, add a choker and provocative smokey eyes.
Working woman
In the office you show a whole other side of yourself. Skinny jeans go with and are enhanced by simple leather pumps, a chiffon blouse and a blazer. An elegant business bag completes the look. Too plain for you? A silk scarf or a bag charm are inspired, discreet elements than can be added to a rather formal look. A tip with regard to colour choice: In the office, dark, even washes with colour-matching seams have an especially good look.
A romance in jeans
When it comes to dating, we're getting familiar with the romantic streak of slim-fit jeans. Medium and light washes produce delicate tones. Match it with dainty ballet flats, a flouncy blouse and playful boho jewellery. Warm and neutral tones contrast with the denim's cool blue. This prevents the look from coming across as boring. With an oversize cardigan and a trendy saddlebag, you can still maintain the look during the transition between seasons.
Party girl
For going out, skinny jeans provide a look of pure glamour. Evening is the time for denim in night blue, black or with a metallic look. With this outfit, however, it's not the pants that are the focus. They yield the stage to exciting party tops and accessories. Combine them, for example, with sophisticated crop tops, transparent blouses or glittering sequin bodysuits. Match it with metallic-look high heels and lavish earrings.
Let's play!
Are you looking for the perfect look for afternoons in the park with friends? The good thing is that slim-fit jeans have a sporty look. You can play around with contrasts: skinny jeans with a bulky college jacket, high waist with a crop top, or ripped jeans with spotless trainers. Contrasts can make for an exciting look.
Skinny jeans
Skinny jeans are an indispensable basic for your wardrobe. No other trousers are as versatile. They look cool at concerts, serious at work, dreamy on a date, glamorous at a club and casual with friends. Have you found your perfect fit yet? At Afound you can get products from well-known brands at a great discount, and you can try them on in the comfort of your own home and make your choice.
FAQs
What is the difference between slim fit and skinny jeans?
Denim pants come in a variety of styles, from wide baggies to extremely narrow skinny jeans. With gradations such as slim, skinny and super skinny, manufacturers are giving us more stylistic freedom. This means that every fashionista will find exactly the shape that she wants. Slim fit is mostly cut so that it fits close to the body and is only slightly tapered at the bottom. Skinny jeans usually have an even narrower leg and a close-fitting hem.
What shoes can I wear with skinny jeans?
When it comes footwear with skinny jeans there are actually no limits to what you can choose. Trainers look sporty, ballet flats accentuate the silhouette and pumps give your outfit a chic look. There's only one thing that's difficult: wearing ankle boots under the hem. So if you want to wear ankle-high boots with super tight jeans, choose ones with a 7/8 length, or you could fold the hem up.
What should you do if your skinny jeans are too tight?
Even tight-fitting jeans get a little looser as you're wearing them. As a result, they do adapt to your body a little bit. However, you have to get into them first: the tricks that we women use to do this are legendary. From bouncing around to lying down and holding our breath, we can get pretty inventive. It's still exhausting. If you don't want to put on a performance every time you wear them, you should avoid two things: 1. hot wash programmes and 2. the dryer. The heat causes the fibres to shrink more than they already do during washing. For this reason, you should wash the pants at a maximum of 30°C and let them air dry, so they're easier to get into.
