Get advice beforehand if this will change the look of the ring. This could be the case with intricate designs and rings with stones. During the reduction process, the ring is cut open, made shorter and then closed again. When making the ring bigger, the jeweller will normally widen the ring. This will change the proportions. With mémoire rings with a lot of small stones, size adjustments are often not possible at all.

How do I store my rings properly?

Then all you need is a ruler and a calculator app to find your ring size. Put your ring on the ruler and measure the inner diameter. Multiply that number by 3.14 to calculate the circumference. This is the ring size. This method is ideal if you want to buy a ring for someone else as a surprise.

Don't have another ring? Then there is another method. You'll need a narrow strip of paper and a pen. The strip should measure around 8 x 1cm. Put it around your finger the way a ring should sit. Mark the point where the two ends meet. Measure the length in between with the ruler. That number is the ring size.
